Summary[]

Kobato Hanato arrives in the Human World and takes on several tests given by Ioryogi in order to prove herself worthy of the bottle. Due to her naïveté, Kobato gets herself into trouble until a stranger saves her. She has varying degrees of success with the tests, but after her singing calms a crying baby in a cherry blossom park, she receives the bottle.

Plot[]

At the very beginning of the episode, Kobato is seen floating down on a playground. She has a certain, still secret wish. If she's able to master a difficult challenge, her wish will be granted. Ioryogi explains her, what she has done in order to her wish coming true: First, she has to receive a flask and then she will have to fill this flask with broken heart fragments. In order to receive the flask, Kobato has to prove her being suitable for living in the human's world.

Ioryogi is her proctor and will mark every test. In the first test thought up by Ioryogi, Kobato has to proof, that she can act like a normal human during spring in a park. But instead of that, she takes a newspaper out of the rubbish bin, lies down on a park bench, covers herself up with the dirty newspaper and falls asleep. Ioryogi gets angry and spits fire at her.

Walking down the street, a woman bumps into Kobato. The woman is so afraid of missing the bus, that she loses one of the rubbish bags carrying around. Kobato's next task is to take the rubbish bag to the next dump. But seeing the hungry crows having their eyes on the rubbish, she feels pity for them and opens the rubbish bag, and the crows dive over Kobato to eat what's in it.

After running away, Ioryogi decides to call Kobato "Dobato" (which means "stupid dove"). Two teenagers find Kobato all by herself and encourage her to go with them. Kobato kindly accepts, and Ioryogi fires at them. The teenagers, triggered by this action are crossed against Kobato (which she didn't do anything) and try to beat her up, but someone reaches them and beats both of their lights out.

At sunset, in the park, Kubota finds a ball belonging to three children who were playing and throws it back to them. But the ball ends up knocking over a bowl of ramen that the cook was preparing. To remedy this, Kobato volunteers herself to make ramen, but she mixes the wrong ingredients, ending up making a sort of "red slime" which the men appreciate it.

Kobato later finds an old woman with a crying baby. She tries to make a funny face, but it doesn't work. Kobato decides to sing for him. As soon as she starts, everyone notices how good Kobato is at singing and applause her. The old lady gives a bottle to Kobato for helping her.
